About Me

As a little girl I enjoyed filling every room of my parents home with decorations that I made.  Throughout my life those paper chains and glitter paper plate snow men matured into hand painted creations.  Having a creative passion, I have always kept my eye on things that are unique or have a sparkle which led me to my love of  shopping in boutiques.  I must admit...part of the reason I love boutiques is due to my obsession with monograms...I would put them on everything if I could!  Having a daughter has only increased this obsession!  Combine all of this and what do you get?  The Pink Pickle, of course!

Here at The Pink Pickle, we have combined everything fabulous into one online boutique.  We carry our own line of stationery, hair accessories and hand painted gifts along with gifts from carefully selected vendors that have the same attention to detail.  Here you will be able to find the perfect balance of all things personalized, preppy, girly, and glittery!  It is our goal to provide you with the most amazing gifts for everyone on your list.  If you would like us to add a product that we don't carry, please send me an email at amy@thepinkpickle.com

My daughter, Kayla, is the reason I decided to start this adventure.  Kayla is a beautiful, intelligent three year old little girl, that just happens to have Down syndrome.  I have enjoyed staying home with her and wanted to find a way to supplement our income {if only just a little} so I decided to try to make a go of selling the creations that I make.  I did a few craft shows and realized how well received my creations were, which is what spurred me to think bigger.  I wanted to not only sell my creations but fun gifts that I would admire and buy in boutiques.  I wanted to create the perfect online shopping destination.  While starting this adventure I struggled with finding a name that would be perfectly girly and perfectly me.  I kept searching for the right words when I drew inspiration from my daughter.  Kayla has several nicknames: "princess", "monkey", "cupcake", and my favorite, "little pickle".  While "Little Pickle" is cute, it wasn't nearly girly enough for my business name.  During one of Kayla's ballet classes this year, I sat there and watched my little pickle dancing around in a pink tutu and just like that, my boutique had a name...The Pink Pickle.

Thank you for stopping by my perfectly unique, posh boutique...and for reading my story!
